Where it clicks, in twenty seconds

A twenty-second film with music. A pen line bends into a question mark while smaller questions circle it: why, how, what if. Its dot drops and turns red, the question straightens into an exclamation mark, and the words read “It clicks.” Ripples tilt into four orbits carrying the words curious, stubborn, playful and brave. They become a plaque that turns in space: “Built by engineers” on the front, “Built for builders” on the back. It becomes a floor of tiles, and a wave of flipping tiles draws the maple leaf: “Canadian-built.” The Maple Mind Academy logo lights up.

Why we exist

Most STEM education stops at the demo.

Kits get assembled, screenshots get taken, and nothing gets engineered. We built the opposite: long-term tracks, real hardware, real code, real breakage, and a technology layer that lets schools and providers run the same standard at scale.

An engineering company that runs education programs, not the other way around.

Our engineering philosophy

The loop every builder runs.

  1. DESIGN

Sketch the constraint before you touch the bench.

  2. PROTOTYPE

First assembly: tolerance, torque and what wobbles.

  3. TEST

Run it. Read the sensor. Trust the measurement.

  4. IMPROVE

Rebuild what failed. That is the engineering loop.

Our story

From the competition floor to a full stack.

The technology was never separate from the programs. It was built by people who had spent a decade in the room.

Chapter 01

10 years

On every side of the competition table

Long before there was a company, there were two builders. Aref Nasiri and Pooya Rad have spent ten years as participants, champions, judges and builders of robotics competitions and education. That is where Maple Mind's engineering bar comes from.

  1. Competitions
  2. The stack
  3. The academy
  4. Many doors
Chapter 02

2023

Building the stack before the doors opened

From 2023 the work was infrastructure: curriculum, software and hardware designed together as one system, so that the academy would open on a stack that already existed.

Chapter 03

2025

Maple Mind Academy, officially

In 2025 Maple Mind Academy opened officially, with its programs running on the stack built for them: real benches, real robots and the same engineering standard from the first session.

Chapter 04

Today

One stack, many doors

Academy programs, online cohorts, school installations, competition teams and white-label infrastructure. Designed as one system, not a bundle of vendors.

Canadian built

Designed in Canada. Proven in Canadian classrooms.

North York workshops, school labs across the GTA, competition seasons and instructor cohorts: the stack is tested where we teach, not imported from a slide deck.

Competition DNA

We compete. We mentor. We judge.

Competition is not a marketing angle. It is how we pressure-test curriculum, hardware and instructor training. Many of our team have been on both sides of the table: building, driving, mentoring and reviewing engineering notebooks.

The exam we can’t grade generously.

Competition is how we pressure-test curriculum, hardware and instructor training, not a marketing angle.

Principles

Four rules we don’t bend.

01

Build, don't watch

Nothing is learned from a slide that could be learned from a robot that doesn't move yet.

02

Failure is curriculum

Wires come loose, code misbehaves, gears strip. Diagnosis is the lesson, not the interruption.

03

Engineer the whole stack

Curriculum, software and hardware are designed together, so nothing important falls between vendors.

04

Canadian, then scalable

Built here, for real classrooms here, and designed so it can travel without being watered down.

People on the bench

Before Maple Mind

They learned robotics by competing with it.

Maple Mind was started by two people who have spent ten years on every side of the competition table — building, losing, rebuilding and judging — as participants, champions, judges and builders of robotics competitions and education. That is where the curriculum comes from.

Pooya Rad

Co-Founder & CEO

Came to teaching through competing in robotics, then building the systems around it: hardware, curriculum and the software layer that carries a lesson to a real robot. Runs Maple Mind's direction and its engineering standard, and has judged competitions.

What we build

One ecosystem. Six connected layers.

Not a menu of vendors. Curriculum, software, hardware, labs, competitions and training designed to connect.

Two builders, then a team, in twenty seconds

A twenty-second film with music. A red dot drops, bounces and splits in two, and each half opens into a round portrait of one of the founders: Pooya Rad, Co-Founder & CEO, and Aref Nasiri, Co-Founder & CTO. Dots stream out of the two circles into a large 10: “Years as participants, champions, judges, builders.” The founders move up into the corners and “From 2023” stamps down, while the dots fall into three slabs that stack up as curriculum, software and hardware: “Building the stack.” The 3 of 2023 melts into a 5, “Maple Mind Academy, officially.”, and the front of the stack swings open like a door with light pouring out. Through it the rest of the team arrives one at a time, each with their name and role: Ali Haghgoo, CFO; Sobhan Zare, CSO; Mobina Sabzevari, Marketing Manager; Erfan Moumji, Instructor & Programming Lead; Maral Jahngirloo, Instructor; Sahand Khosroshahi, Instructor; and Sadaf Bayat, Instructor. All nine come together, burst into colour and flip one after another to their 3D avatars and back: “Nine people on the bench.” The Maple Mind Academy logo lights up: “One stack, many doors.”

                Ecosystem

                One company. Six connected properties.

Academy programs, software, online learning, simulation, hubs and partnerships: different doors into the same robotics standard.

                Future

More benches, schools, seasons, instructors. Same standard.

We are expanding physical hubs, school installations and competition streams, always with the same engineering bar: if it cannot be built, wired, programmed and debugged on a real bench, it does not ship.

The next generation of builders is already in our programs. We are building the infrastructure they will inherit.
