Here's the whole journey, start to finish.
Eight stages from a first question to mentoring somebody else. No decision required. Read it and see where you recognise yourself.
The pathway in twenty seconds
A twenty-second film with music. Seen from above, a red dot draws a road from square to square, and on each square a stage of the pathway arrives with its own motion: curiosity, build, connect, code, think, compete, create and lead. The camera then swings down to the side and the squares turn out to be a staircase, each stage a step higher than the last. “Your path starts here.” The Maple Mind Academy logo lights up: “Eight stages. One road.”
Climb it yourself
The film ended on a staircase. Now climb it.
Every stage is a step up from the last. Pick a step, or drag along the staircase, and the robot climbs there, built to that stage.
What grade are you in?
Drag the slider. The robot will jump to where most learners that age begin.
The journey
Eight stages. One robot. Watch it grow.
No decision needed. Scroll the road and see where you recognise yourself.
- Level 1Curiosity
It starts with a question, not a curriculum.
Before the robot, the code or the competition, there is one question: what could I build? Everything after this is scaffolding for that question.
- WONDER
- FIRST CONTACT
01 - Level 2Build
Shapes become mechanisms.
Wheels, chassis, gears, brackets and fasteners. Learners discover that tolerance, torque and alignment are not vocabulary; they are the difference between a machine that moves and one that grinds.
- MECHANICS
- TOLERANCE
- ASSEMBLY
02 - Level 3Connect
Power, signal, ground.
Wires cross the build. A microcontroller arrives. Sensors and LEDs join the circuit. The trace closes and, for the first time, the machine has a nervous system.
- PCB
- MICROCONTROLLER
- SENSORS
03 This is where a shape on a screen becomes something that moves.
- Level 4Code
Logic becomes motion.
Blocks first, text soon after. Conditions, loops, state. The learner writes an intention and the physical world obeys it, or exposes the flaw.
- LOGIC
- CONTROL
- STATE
04 - Level 5Think
The robot starts deciding.
Thresholds, perception, autonomy. Sensors replace instructions, and the learner moves from commanding a machine to designing how it judges the world.
- AI
- COMPUTER VISION
- AUTONOMY
05 - Level 6Compete
Engineering under pressure.
Arena lines, a timer, a crowd, and a design you have to defend. Competition compresses months of iteration into minutes of truth.
- MATCH TIMER
- TELEMETRY
- STRATEGY
06 Then it stops being practice. Somebody else's robot is across the table.
- Level 7Create
From following a build to designing one.
CAD, 3D printing, custom mechanisms. The learner stops asking for instructions and starts producing them.
- CAD
- 3D PRINTING
- ORIGINAL DESIGN
07 - Level 8Lead
Builders become mentors.
Team lead, mentor, instructor, judge, engineer. The pathway ends where Maple Mind began: with people who build robots teaching others to build robots.
- MENTORSHIP
- INSTRUCTION
- ENGINEERING
Rebuild it stage by stage
Level 8 · Lead: A helper bot of its own. Builders become mentors: the one it is now teaching.
Level 8 · Lead
That's the whole road.
Curious where you'd start? Two minutes of questions will tell you.
Which program, at which level
Six ways onto the same road.
All six programs follow the same eight levels, from a first build to leading others. What changes is where each one starts, how far it goes, and how it runs: every week, as a one-week camp, online, or as a competition season. Point at a level to see which programs teach it.
- CampsKindergarten to Grade 12 · Levels 1–4A one-week camp: build a robot from scratch and have it running its own code by the last day.
- Hybrid & Online9–16+ · Levels 2–5Learn from home: a real robot kit comes to you, with live online sessions and simulation in between.
- Weekly ClassesKindergarten to Grade 12 · Levels 2–7Classes every week, all year: move up level by level, from a first robot to competition robots.
- Skill BuildersSoon10–16+ · Levels 3–7Short courses on one skill, such as electronics, CAD or 3D printing. Coming soon.
- Competitions12–18 · Levels 6–7A selective team for ages 12 to 18 that trains all season to compete, then helps mentor others.
- Instructor DevelopmentSoonEducators & adults · Level 8For teachers and adults: build the robots yourself first, then learn to teach them. Coming soon.
